[Abstract]:
The property of tempered glass
Toughened glass is a safety glass. Tempered glass is a kind of prestressing force glass actually, to enhance the strength of the glass, use the method of chemistry or physics to form in Compressive stress on the surface of glass, glass will offset stress when it undertake external force, so as to improve the bearing capacity, enhance the wind resistance and impact force.

1. There are two main advantages of tempered glass:

1.1 Strength is several times higher than ordinary glass, bending strength is 3~5 times higher than ordinary glass, and impact strength is 5~10 times higher than ordinary glass.

1.2 Safety, its bearing capacity improved fragile feature, even if tempered glass cracks, it will form to no acute angle fragments which dramatically reduced the harm to human body. The property of bearing urgent cold and hot for tempered glass is 2 ~ 3 times higher than common glass, can generally undertake above 150 ℃ of temperature change and has obvious effect to prevent thermal cracking.

2. Disadvantages of tempered glass

2.1 The glass cannot be cut or processed any more after tempered. The glass can only be processed to the required shape before it is tempered.

2.2 Although tempered glass is stronger than ordinary glass, it is possible for tempered glass to self-burst (break itself) when temperature difference changes greatly, while common glass does not have the possibility of self-explosion.
